We continued our foray into the world of living things by "looking close" and investigating with our senses a variety of different seeds.  How do they look when viewed through a magnifying glass? What parts are we able to distinguish?  How do they feel?  How do they smell?

First Grade News

Sunday, January 24th is our Discover Oman trip to Barka Fort!

We will be visiting Barka Fort this Sunday for the first of three field trips this week as part of Discover Oman. We will leave TAISM at 9:00 and return about 1:00 to continue our day. Please read below for details so your child will be prepared and note that we will be eating lunch as part of the field trip.

• Students need to wear tennis shoes/athletic shoes/trainers/sneakers since we may be walking on uneven surfaces.

• Students need to bring a hat, a full water bottle, a snack, and a lunch from home. We will not be eating lunch at school, so students will not be able to purchase lunch.

• Apply sunscreen before arrival at school.

There are NO After School Activities the week of January 24th - 28th!

RAINBOW Day!

The weather was divine and the fun was nonstop!  Enjoy a glimpse into one of our very special yearly traditions...

Holiday Party Pics

Before we all set off for parts unknown, the first grade classes celebrated with a holiday party.  We watched a short movie complete with popcorn and donuts, played games, danced and made sparkly crafts.  It was a wonderful time!  Thanks to all our special helpers on that day!
