J1ds has a great weekly routine for learning those important words that can be so difficult to remember how to read and spell. Every week we are introduced to a new set of ten and then we spend time working with those words in a variety of different ways. To begin, we prepare our cards, cutting, reading and placing on our rings. Then we write them in our weekly mini packet, first in pencil, then with rainbow colors! Working with our partners follows. We each take turns being the "teacher" and test each other. Sentence writing precedes our final activity (testing on the set) and we learn what it takes to write a complete sentence and try to be creative in our composition. Below you will see an example of rainbow writing :)
